Cappadocia is the general name for the area of Urgup, Goreme and Avanos, towns near Nevsehir in central Turkey. The area of Cappadocia reveals present-time villages dispersed among conical land forms, corroded ravines and fairy chimneys. The pumice and tufa stone, which resulted from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago and sculpted by wind, underground rivers and rain, is extremely malleable, yet very durable and strong. DAY 1-2 : Wonderful tour in Istanbul for two days DAY 3 : Arriving in Kayseri after a short flight and driving to Capadocia. Visiting Uchisar, Open Air Museum in Goreme and the early Christian churches decorated with unique frescoes depicting various scenes from the Bible. We will have a folk dance and belly dance performance while we wine and dine in an underground cabaret. DAY 4 : Visiting the fascinating Underground Cities, where early Christians hid from persecutors. Visiting Zelve region and Avanos areas and will spend some time to see world-wide famous handcraft places like pottery and carpets. We will also go for a wine taste, as the Capadocia region has a very good sellection. You may also take a balloon tour to enjoy your wine over this amazing region. DAY 5 : Flight to Istanbul from Kayseri.
